In case you needed one more reason to ditch your Internet Explorer and spread Firefox all over your tragicallt cluttered PC, apparently Fandango will cut you a price break.
I was logged into Fandango trying to beat the geeks to the advance tickets for X-Men III this weekend. Using IE, I got up to the order screen.
Note the service fee is $2 per ticket.
So I took a break, and later went back to Fandango, but this time using Firefox:
Note the service fee is a mere $0.99 per ticket. Same movie, same theater, same showtime, radically different price.
I closed both browsers and retraced my steps. Same results.
What gives? Anyone able to replicate or have a clue?

I've heard anecdotes about Firefox users getting different, better offers on some shopping sites, but have never been able to confirm this behavior. All I can tell you is enjoy the $1.01 bonus. :-)

PK: You are going to give full disclosure, right? I mean the way I hear it, you basically created Firefox yourself. MPJ

I wonder if this is another Myth?

MT, what do you think the word "myth" means?

It could be that you're cookied in IE as having purchased lots of tickets from Fandango before. Fandango is probably offering a lower price if you've bought there less, so the 'firefox you' gets a better deal than the 'internet explorer' you, at least right now. i think i remember seeing the same thing on travelocity one time.

Wow, interesting...eliotvb makes a good point about cookies.
It seems almost too good to be true. But then Google is paying $1 to anyone who refers a person to downloading FireFox, so who knows?
