I've never eaten at Darla's, even though I live a block away. But in a world of relentless bullshit, it's comforting to see such understated, indeterminate, almost sheepish and afraid ad copy.
"Possibly the Best Burger Around!"
Yup, it's not "absolutely" or "definitely" the best burger; the relative quality of this burger compared to others is still open to interpretation. And note the geographical indeterminance; it's not the best burger in the world or California or even the neighborhood; it's merely the best burger "around." Yes, "around." On the same block, Darla's is competing with a Pasta Pomodoro, a wonderful Japanese joint (Chika), and a little Thai bistro. Not much ground round around. Darla's probably wins.
Besides an astonishing lack of self-confidence, I can't imagine why a business owner would shortchange his or her own creation like this. (Their burger looks pretty good right here.) Maybe they passed their sign through legal too many times.

Her burgers are good. I would have to say, though, that my fave so far are Burgermeister burgers.

You cribbed that comment from "Cheap Eats", whose respective column is in the window of Darla's, proving they are proud of their meager merits.
